The Seven Sisters Martha's Vineyard Mirror in the Sky

NEW IN SHOP: Mirror in the Sky

A few days ago now we received our very first delivery of Mirror in the Sky, a collection of shawls, t-shirts, and featherweight outerwear crafted from some of the finest cashmere I’ve ever laid my hands on (which, for the record, is a lot of cashmere).

I could wax poetic about the otherworldly softness of the down-like fibres from which all of the pieces are made.
I won’t. I’ll say instead that you must touch them yourself to truly appreciate how good they feel on the skin.

They are also
made in a way one can feel good about—the brand works with nomadic herders to comb the fibres from the yaks and Hirku goats of the Himalayan and Mongolian plateaus during the spring molting season. It’s a gentle process that, like all good things, moves slowly, respects nature, and tries to minimize our impact on the world.

The group of skilled weavers that turn those clouds of fluffy fibres into yarn? A women’s cooperative in Kathmandu that provides well-paying jobs and a sustainable future for this incredible heritage of craftsmanship and time-honored, artisanal techniques.

I'm proud to be offering the collection in the shop. I hope you'll stop by soon so I can share it with you. —
