The scute is a very functional part of the alligators anatomy. Although alligators can not thermos-regulate, the pitted texture of this bone acts as an insulator collecting and retaining heat while the alligator basks along a bank. The shank is designed using the shell of an armadillo. Available in 14k Gold, Sterling Silver, and Vermeil.
